Interior Painting

If you’ve called around or looked online you have likely seen that many companies “do it all.” They will stain your fence, paint your deck, scrape your siding and then get to work on the inside of your house. Hearth and Home Painting also has experience in all of these areas and could tackle these projects, but instead of doing it all, we have chosen to focus on interiors which allows us to become highly skilled and developed in interior painting. Like any industry, the world of painting changes, evolves and grows over time. There are new products, standards and formulas which are used to help move the industry forward. At Hearth and Home Painting, we serve the Rochester area by keeping up with these changes and by adapting, learning and keeping pace.

When I first purchased a home in 2008, I had recently gotten married, graduated from college and was pretty green when it came to all things required of general home maintenance and upkeep, but I thought I could paint! Looking back, now after years of painting and life experience, I realize now what a lot of homeowners realize when they first take on a large painting project: it’s easy to slap some paint on the walls, but not that easy to make it look good! I had paint all over my stained wood trim, my prep work was non-existent, my lines were wavy: I bought some gizmo to help me cut in and I had no idea that there were actual tools used by painting pros to make rolling easier.

Since then, I have learned a lot and I have learned to trust the pros. You can cut your own hair, service your own vehicle or diagnose yourself on webmd.com, but at one point or another, you might want to pay for that service and get the expertise that comes from years of practice and training.

At Hearth and Home Painting, we take pride in our work and follow simple procedures each time we start a project. We begin with a detailed estimate at your property, where we walk your through everything that we will do in each room. If special consideration needs to be made on our end, such as an extra coat of paint or additional prep work, we will tell you at the time of the estimate. If you need us to be mindful of something in your life, like a work schedule or a sleeping child, or a pet that shouldn’t be disturbed, let us know and we will take note and work with you. Then, we will get to work. We always do meticulous prep work which includes patching and repairing any imperfections on wall or ceiling surfaces, filling any nail holes and working to make the surfaces we are going to paint as uniform as possible. Typically, we only work with Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams brand paints because we have found them to be super consistent and durable over time. When we are through for the day, we will clean up after ourselves and store our equipment in a place that won’t interfere with your life. Our goal is to communicate well with you and to make sure that you are pleased with our work every step of the way.
